Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually happening.
