Jurgen Klopp says rejoining to lead Liverpool is plausible in theory.

The German coach, who left Anfield in 2024, indicated that returning someday is an option. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-year spell that included a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title for three decades, currently occupies positions as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

They secured the Premier League in the previous campaign, yet numerous supporters who revere Klopp would embrace the idea that he may eventually return. During an extensive chat, he told the podcast host: “I said I won't manage a different club on English soil. Therefore should it be the Reds...yes. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“Being 58, so I could make the decision in a few years, who knows. Must I choose now? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe what lies ahead.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding the specific conditions must arise to draw him back to the touchline, he confessed he was not instantly drawn toward coming back. “I don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,” he commented. “I don’t miss coaching; I don’t miss standing in the rain for lengthy sessions; No need for press conferences four times, three times a week or constant media duties weekly.

“The locker room isn't missed in that context, yet sharing a meal with the players talking freely, I appreciate that. Success was frequent so there was often great spirits around the place. I still have the captain's chuckle vividly recalled for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly of the current boss, crediting him for the tweaks that won the league last term. The team has suffered four in a row in all competitions after a summer spending spree, but he rubbished the notion that it might signal a slump.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker such as Wirtz, you will all eat your words if you use the wrong words. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, superb talent. It’s a really good well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret regarding the Reds, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Jota, a 2020 acquisition during his tenure, and its impact for the team. Jota died tragically in a vehicle collision alongside his brother recently.

“Can you substitute a person like him? It goes beyond his on-field talent, it's his character. I struggle to conceive the dressing room missing him. I find it difficult to discuss regarding this. A profound tragedy for all the boys as well. No one within the club might employ it for poor performances yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room which he filled completely. Coping with it emotionally is difficult. Overwhelming.”
