The Streaming Giant Chooses Spot-On Actor for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Season 3

The Secret Organization is poised to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the major clash won’t unfold until the next season, and a adored, fan-favorite member has just been cast.

The streaming service revealed this week that the talented performer has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Bon Clay. Bon Clay can use their power to transform into an exact copy of any person they’ve made contact with with their right hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that figure reimagined as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag queen, in the live-action series, differing from the initial comic and animated series.

Escola will work alongside multiple recently announced actors who will portray the group to life, including leader Sir Crocodile, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.

Even though this character is a important part of the group, the character won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this signals a significant shift in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could suggest further changes to the plot development.

Their mix of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is set to return for its second season on March 10, 2026.
